My friends Roberto, Max and I, Paolo, are all second generation in the tour business and we've all been in this business for decades. We felt that though our guests were always very happy with our service, as we took them around Rome in our cars, we instead felt some frustration, like something was missing, as if we didn't do what we were supposed to. In fact, we were showing them all the famous attractions like the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain and St. Peter's, but we weren't really showing them the real Rome.

We could not include in our tour the areas of Rome that make it the very special city it is and which remain undiscovered for most tourists. The characteristic narrow streets and the evocative little squares in the historic center of the city which, maybe more so than places like the Colosseum or the Trevi Fountain, represent Rome and help the foreigner understand Rome and its millenary culture because that's where the present Romans live their lives!

When we drive around Rome in our cars, cumbersome minivans really, we can never walk away from them. We have to stay with our car when we take people to a site and let them go visit it. We try to stop as close as possible to make sure they find their way back to us after their visit and we're always afraid that if for some reason we have to move the car, they' won't be able to find us.

By what we hear our tourists say while we tour, sometimes we understand that they'd be very interested in seeing a little special something that we isn't far and we would love to show it to them but we have to stay with the car and we can't direct them to the place because they'd get lost and never find it. Sometimes all they want is simply a good ice cream and we would love to take them to our favorite place but we can't because the street it's on is too narrow for the minivan with no place where to park, so we take them to our second best that we can park near to.

But this is was happening before we started touring in the street legal golf carts!

We rediscovered the freedom of driving and parking almost anywhere we want to. We can take our people to a fabulous out of the way ice cream place, take them to a little out of the way church to show them a fantastic organ or a statue by Bernini.

The first time we took someone on a tour of Rome, a person who could not walk too far because of temporary physical problems, we realized the potential of these little buggies. We rediscovered the freedom of driving through the streets where we used to play when we were kids and which we had almost forgotten existed. The freedom of stopping the cart just about anywhere and say: come and take a look at this!

The best way to see Rome would be to walk all over it, but this would take a few days and a lot of energy and so most tourists choose to tour by bus or private car. But such vehicles can’t drive where we can drive and can’t show people the real Rome they can only take them from one of the major attractions to the other, though touring this way one misses the unique charm of old Rome. As you drive through Rome in our open electric car, you get to look inside the shops, take a peek at the courtyards inside the old buildings and have fun with the comments of the people as you drive past them. As we drive through the neighborhood markets you hear the calling of the vendors and smell the fresh fruit that’s being sold.
We can practically drive you anywhere and get you really close to the places to visit. You can see a lot of the sites without even getting out of the cart!

You can take your pictures any time you like and stop practically anywhere you want. You drive through the narrow backstreets and areas where only pedestrians and bicycles are allowed and get to see the real Rome! You can stop for a great ice cream at a little out-of-the-way place instead of spending a fortune and buy crap from vendors outside the Colosseum. Enjoy having your lunch at an authentic little “trattoria” with the locals, instead of the touristy restaurants where they serve you frozen food.
