Accessible guided tours in Rome

We are immensely proud to be able to provide this service to those who would otherwise have difficulty visiting Rome.
What are the advantages of touring Rome in a golf cart for those with mobility problems?
The golf cart makes Rome accessible to everyone, as we can drive them remarkably close to the places you wish to visit.
Golf carts can pass through areas of the old city where cars cannot drive and would be difficult to explore on foot,
especially for those with mobility problems.
Anyone can enjoy visiting Rome thoroughly, easily, and comfortably, whether they’re alone or with family and friends.
The golf cart drives faster than a person walks, so you maximize your visiting time by covering a lot of ground.
The guide’s fascinating narration will help you familiarize yourself with the history of Rome and really get to know the city.

Rome Time:

Sightseeing in Rome with a mobility problem? Resolved!
Tour in a golf cart, with a private guide!

If walking is a problem but you want to see Rome, this is the tour
for you! Touring by golf cart is the very best way to tour Rome for a disabled person, who has a wheelchair, stroller or even just a senior citizen! We have special golf carts that accommodate three people and store a wheelchair! Everyone sits facing forward, no-one feels excluded. The golf cart makes the tour of Rome very special and easy for people with walking problems. These little electric cars are allowed to drive practically anywhere, especially if a disabled person is aboard.  The golf carts are very easy to get in and out of even for people with limited mobility, they have no doors.

Please note that our largest golf cart takes 7 passengers but if there is a wheelchair this will reduce the space to 5 passengers (plus the wheelchair). Groups of 6 and over will need 2 or more golf carts.

Tours start at 9.30am and 2.30pm
We have a variety of tour available that you can view here.

Easter Sunday and Monday we’re very busy, but we may some openings. Therefore, please contact us before booking your tour online. Thank you.

Golf Carts

My Best Tour’s fleet of golf carts is the largest in Rome.
We use the most appropriate golf carts to accommodate groups of different sizes. Large groups, with more than seven participants, are accommodated in multiple carts and tour in a motorcade. The carts are provided with special seats when transporting children. The carts have space to store strollers, wheelchairs, walkers, and lightweight electric scooters. All carts are equipped with plastic covers to protect the passengers in case of bad weather.

Winter kit: when it gets cold, the guests are given poncho raincoats and blankets.

The tour of the Vatican for seniors and disabled

The place is normally less crowded in the afternoon, so we suggest starting this tour around 2:00 or 2:30 pm.
The tour takes 3 hours and basically includes the Belvedere Courtyard, Pigna Courtyard, Library Gallery, Gallery of Tapestries, Gallery of Maps and finally to the Sistine Chapel.
The itinerary may vary depending on how the Vatican will organize the flow of visitors on the day of your visit.
Please note that if there are non-disabled people in your group, the group will be split, as the lift used for the disabled is very small. Your guide will instruct you about where to reunite.
Your specialized, English speaking, Vatican tour guide will explain everything as you stroll through the galleries and museums to finally arrive at the Sistine Chapel. Nobody is allowed to talk in the Sistine Chapel, your guide will use the pictures displayed in the Museums to tell you all about the frescoes before entering the room and give you a pamphlet with pictures and captions that will remind you, once you are alone contemplating the chapel, what the guide explained.
Guides speaking other languages are also available.

Important Vatican Museum wheelchair information

You will meet your guide, and eventually pick up the wheelchair if you need one from our offices in
Via Santamaura, 9.
You can reach our office on your own and leave on your own after the tour but, if you like, we can transfer your party from your place to our office by minivan or golf cart for the additional charge of 60 € each way.

If you are disabled, but you don’t have your own wheelchair because you don’t normally use it, if you only need it for this tour, you can rent it from us.
The additional price for the wheelchair rental is 30 Euros.
If nobody in your group can push the wheelchair around, we can provide an assistant who’ll help you with this.
The additional price for the wheelchair assistant is 60 Euros.
You’ll have to bring the wheelchair back to the office at the end of the tour.

Disabled people are granted free access for themselves and a companion, so free admission for two people.
However, the disability must be proven by a statement from a doctor or hospital.

Colosseum & Forum Tour

8.30/9.30 start outside Hotel Forum. We will explain the most famous places in this vast archeological site. You will have your own private guide in English, who will explain to you all about Ancient Rome, the importance of the Forum and Colosseum, transporting you back in time. This fantastic experience will remain more memorable as your guide explains the significance of the sights you will visit. If you have seen movies like “The Gladiator”, now you will actually see where the Gladiators fought in the ColosseumWith a wheelchair, it is possible to visit the lower floors. After the Colosseum the guide will take you to Forum, where for who has a wheelchair there is a non-slip pathway through the center of the Forum only.

“Awesomely incredible. What a way to see Rome. Searched "Rome for those with mobility issues" and found this company. Gianna was so helpful in setting up our nighttime tour and 2 days of golf cart tours. Raphael, who is a delightful young man and excellent tour guide, took us to the usual tourist spots and also some of his favorite places. He also took us to a few places we wanted to see that weren't on their usual itinerary. The golf carts can go into the little alleys and piazzas that we would never have been able to see. Eating pizza for lunch from a little bakery while sitting in the golf cart was one of our highlights. Pasta carbonara and Tiramasu while waiting for Laura to take us on our Vatican tour wwe the best we had in our 2 weeks in Italy. Highly recommend this company whether you have mobility issues or not.”

“I recently took some older family members to Rome for a week. I looked online for suitable tour operators as my family weren’t up to extensive walking Day after day. We booked one half day tour and one evening tour. It was exactly what we were looking for. Our guide spoke great English. He listened to our interests and modified the tour accordingly. Would def recommend, especially for people with limited mobility or time. Thanks!”
